Traditional method cider from West Sussex
This cider is a collaboration with; and tribute to the Best family who have been growing apples at Hicknowle in Dorset since 1923. Rupert Best made his mark on English cider and Matt & Frida Best continue his good work there today. This cider is classic in its ingredients with more than just a pinch of finesse, a bit like the Best’s themselves.
Unlike our other ciders, this one packs a big tannic punch which balances well with the rich, ripe apple flavours. Being aged in oak barrels prior to bottling provides complexity of flavour as does the autolysis character from lees ageing in bottle. This fine celebration cider has all the fine bubbled elegance of traditional method cider with the intensity you would expect from a traditional scrumpy cider. Our ‘Best’ cider to date, you decide...
