Little Pomona Archive Case

Product Info
As you'll probably know by now, Little Pomona are one of our favourite cider makers out there so when we placed our order for the newly released Disco Nouveau 2025 we asked James if there was anything in the archives that was tasting particularly good and that we could offer as a special treat to our fellow LP nerds out there. He responded with glee(as much as James can show such an emotion) and this is what we came up with.
A case of 6 of the best LP ciders from the past few years and the latest vintage of Disco Nouveau (it's 100% Discovery people!!) to fill the ever increasing gaps in that wine rack you bought in lockdown.
Ball's Bittersweet 2021 - Wild fermented, this spent some time in second- and third-use ex-cognac barrels before bottle conditioning for a gentle, creamy bit of sparkle in the glass. The palate is full of juicy sappy apples, tangerine, incense and citrus oil, with notes of leather and sweet spice, plus soft tannins to finish.
Disco Nouveau 2025 - Disco is fresh, fun and fruity, bringing a little bit of summer sparkle to the grey gloom of winter. When reflecting on this vintage just gone and the ciders it's already beginning to produce James Forbes said, "We love working with Discovery apples. They are brilliant little eaters, bursting with strawberry and citrus flavours.
The Thankful Receiver - This is a blend using zesty Discovery apples and rich Egremont Russets from Cotswold Orchards in Worcestershire, along with barrel-aged Dabinett from Brook House Farm orchard. Ripe and fruity, with tangerine zest alongside apple notes, there's a balanced refreshing acidity and a natural gentle sparkle.
The Bitter Truth - A single barrel of bright, golden sunshine, brought to you by two legends of the apple world, Ellis and Ashton Bitter. Nearly two years in a whisky cask has brought lovely aromatics of hay, smoke sweet wood and icing sugar to the nose. In the mouth there’s a little smoke playing around the edges of the cider but at its core it’s yellow plums, baked apple and something almost grapey – soor ploom candy – that finishes dry and sweetly woody.
Club Tropicana -
Deep gold in colour, heading towards amber, this is super tropical on the nose, all grilled pineapple, lemon verbena, perfumed honey, vanilla and sweet florality. In the mouth it’s a real tropical fruit basket – Opal Fruit (not Starburst) juiciness and ripe mango, with more pineapple, star fruit and kiwi and another flourish of that floral perfume.
When Burum Met Pomona -
When Burum Met Pomona 2021, a still cider, is the first of the pair. We took gorgeous hand-picked Dabinett apples from Brook House Farm, wild fermented them and then matured the cider in ex-Chardonnay barrels for six months before bottling. In the end it’s become a super juicy, “peach juice and tangy orange dripping from your chin” type of cider. If you trapped it in coloured gelatine pastilles, this would be the world’s tastiest wine gums!
